SOUTH BETHANY - Delaware State Police are currently conducting a death investigation after a body was discovered in the ocean near South Bethany Beach.
South Bethany Police Department was dispatched to a body that was found in the surf off South Ocean Drive around 6:21 a.m. this morning. A witness informed police they observed the body floating in the water while walking on the beach.
The body, which was later identified as Graciela Huegel, 71, of South Bethany was removed scene by the Medical Examiner's Office and transported to Georgetown where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
Ms. Graciela was last seen around 3:00 a.m. by her husband when she left her residence to take a walk.
Foul play is not suspected and the investigation is continuing by Delaware State Police Detectives.
