Oil Prices

Okay, Let's try to get this forum going. I heard today oil prices went up based on the rumor that a pipeline exploded in Saudi Arabia. They came back down when the rumor was proven to be only that, a rumor. Obama and others have said domestic drilling will not affect oil prices. Someone explain to me why? Anytime there is a disruption in or even a rumor of a disruption the price of oil goes up based on the possible reduction in the oil supply. So if a possible reduction in the oil supply will cause prices to go up, why wouldn't an actual increase bring prices down?

Oil Prices

Prices are said to be a result of Supply and Demand.  Perhaps one should look at who owns the supply and controls domestic oil and what their political affiliations might be.  There have been some comments lately about how when Obama was elected gas prices were way below what they are now.  That's true.  I use 89 octane and track my expenses.  On November 4th 2008 I paid $2.25 a gal, on 11/24/08 - $2.18, by 12/30/08 it was $1.64.  This week I paid $3.75 a gallon.  Selective memory does not allow some people to remember that in June of 2008, 5 months before the 2008 election the price was $4.21 a gallon.  Was that his fault too?  I have to go back to 10/20/2006 to find a price of $2.18.  Does it make you think that maybe a President has absolutely no control over prices?  Maybe it's only the guys that have the money to buy the politicians their elections have that control.

Nice try - Obama sucks, adios forums this is a set up to eliminate free speech and open expression.  No wonder the DSN is down the tubes.

Did I say Obama doesn't suck?  I just said that the politicians do not control oil prices.  The people who control the politicians control the oil.
