Kent County government: general issues

Kudos on county budget

In these past weeks of intense media coverage of the primaries and Washington shenanigans, there was an article in the DSN that some us may have missed about our Kent County budget. [“Levy Court approves $22.4M budget with no tax increase,” April 25]

While the U.S. Congress, for the third year running, has failed to do its duty to pass a budget for this country and continues to spiral us into incredible debt, a local group of Republicans and Democrats called Levy Court commissioners not only managed to pass another annual budget without acrimony and finger-pointing, but also passed a budget without raising taxes or fees.

It makes you wonder why the people responsible for our country can’t do as well as those responsible for our county.
