Elected Officials and Criminal Backgrounds

Hello,

What are your thoughts on our elected officials having criminal backgrounds? Should any criminal background prevent them from serving the public and taking part in any financial spending of our money?

Elected Officials and Criminal Backgrounds

A person can not run for an elected position if they have been  convicted of a felony or any crimes of moral turpitude. That is right in most municipal, county and state election rules.
