Holly Malone, City Council Candidate for District 1
What are we looking for in our District 1 City Council representative? We are looking for someone who cares about and will represent all of the people in our district. We are looking for someone who has shown she can work with other Council members to achieve shared goals and concerns in a civil manner.  We are looking for someone who will be concerned about spending taxpayers’ money but also be supportive of maintaining the high level and broad menu of services we residents of Dover enjoy at the present time. We are looking for someone who will communicate with our district’s constituents and seek their input relative to issues being discussed and acted upon by the Council.
For us, Holly Malone is that person. She represented the district well as our First District Council representative from 1993 to 2001. Holly supported keeping tax rates in check. Holly supported a new comprehensive plan for managed growth in the City of Dover. During her years as a Council member, she chaired the Code Board of Appeals Committee and the Parks and Recreation Committee. She also spent time as a member of the Safety Advisory Committee, the Legislative and Finance Committee, the Dover Library Committee, and the City/County Liaison Committee. So you can see that her knowledge and experience with Dover City Council are broad and informed. By volunteering to offer her time and service again, she is demonstrating her dedication to the residents of the First District and the citizens of the City of Dover.
We plan to vote for Holly Malone on Tuesday, April 17, and encourage our fellow residents of the First District to do the same.

Holly Malone
The City of Dover faces many difficult challenges. It is important that we select people for City Council who are up to those challenges, who will bring a thoughtful approach to the issues and who will stay in touch with constituents, making sure their views are paramount in the tough decisions Council must make.
I believe Holly Malone is that kind of person and will be that kind of councilwoman. That’s why I’m voting for Holly for the First District Council seat on April 17.
Holly has proven by her previous service on Council and through her many community activities that she understands the needs of the people, has a deep sense of fiscal responsibility and holds in high respect the importance of keeping taxes low. She pays attention to her district, is a proven consensus-builder and takes the time to do her homework before taking a position. She has demonstrated virtually all the qualities of a fine representative of the people.
Dover is a wonderful place to live. My husband and I moved our family here in 1981. Our kids grew up here and went to school here. One of the reasons for our commitment to Dover is the quality of civic leadership over the years. That leadership has helped make Dover a truly desirable place to live. Holly Malone will carry on that tradition of positive, constructive leadership. She will help insure that both current and future generations have the same quality of life we have enjoyed.
I encourage everyone in the First Council District to vote for Holly Malone.

To the city ofDover’s good fortune, Holly Malone is once again running for city council in the First District. Holly will be a positive force on council.

As a former councilmember, I served with Holly and know firsthand what she can do to improve the capital city. On April 17, vote for Holly Malone.

Now is the time for Holly Malone

Holly Malone’s knowledge and love ofDover, along with her years of experience and leadership in both public and private sectors, qualify her to serve as Dover City Council’s First District Representative.

Holly did not raise taxes when she served previously as First District representative, and she is still a fiscal conservative who will spend constituents’ money carefully. She will listen to our ideas and concerns, and will represent us honestly and with respect, as she did from 1993 until 2001.

Outgoing and personable, Holly is again looking forward to working as part of the Dover City Council team. She understands the fine art of compromise when needed, and will work towards prioritizing and solving our problems, challenges and concerns, including providing enough police officers; making sure firefighters are properly and safely equipped; encouraging services to help the homeless; improving traffic control; updating our aging infrastructure; and ensuring the reliability of our electricity, water and sewer services.

Holly understands that businesses searching for locations are looking for the same things our citizens are, including excellent schools, access to the arts, and the various offerings of an up-to-date and adequately sized library. She has long been a supporter and promoter of the new Dover Public Library, and understands its mission and funding, which she can discuss intelligently and with pride.

Holly Malone is forward-thinking and ready to get to work to solveDover’s problems and make it a better place to live, work, raise a family and retire. The First District of Dover City Council needs Holly Malone now! She will have our votes on Tuesday, April 17, and fellow First District residents, we hope she has yours, too.
