Pub crawls highlight St. Patrick's Day

Friday, March 16, 2012 08:30:57 PM by Craig Horleman

Area St. Patrick’s Day celebrations will also be highlighted by a couple of pub crawls.

Dover Downs Hotel & Casino will hold its first St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl on Saturday. It will begin at 4 p.m. with registration in Fire & Ice and follow a course to the Gazebo Bar, Terrace Bar, Race & Sports Book and Frankie’s.

Guests may collect trinkets at each outlet, representing entries into prize drawings for dinner for two at Frankie’s, an overnight hotel stay, a $100 resort card and more.

Fire & Ice will have a most spirited contest, karaoke, the Irish folk band Coel Mor, an Irish jig contest between 7 and 9 p.m. and more.
Other festivities include drink and food specials at each restaurant and bar. To further acknowledge the holiday, the hotel will be lighted green for the evening.

Downtown Milford, Inc. is hosting Toasting the Town: St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl.

Eventgoers will purchase a T-shirt around the town prior to the event and then walk around downtown Milford on Saturday anytime after 5 p.m., in the hopes of receiving a check mark next to every participating vendor’s logo on the back of their shirt.

Event T-shirts are being sold for $15 at Abbott’s Grill, Blooming Boutique, Fur~Baby Boutique, Georgia House, Miss Q’s Bar and Billiards, Park Place and the Second Street Players Theatre.

Participating vendors will have specials for T-shirt wearers such as: discounted drinks and food specials, free wine and beer tastings from Fenwick Wine Cellars and 16 Mile Brewing Co., ($2 without a T-shirt).

Additionally, the Mispillion River will be aglow in green for the evening.
