In response to the devastation left behind by Hurricane Sandy, Delaware Coast Aid, a coalition of coastal business and residents, will host a fundraising event Thursday, Nov. 15 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Rusty Rudder in Dewey Beach.
The Center for Inland Bays will manage all donations which will directly benefit Delaware and surrounding states.
To kick off the family friendly evening, Schell Brothers has pledged $10,000.
Coordinators Kevin Roberts of Bethany Blues and Chip Thompson of Atlantic Horizons, who created the Gulf Coast Aid event in 2010 that raised $70,000 in under three weeks, are once again steering this project.
Entertainment will be provided by four local and regional bands, including Love Seed Mama Jump and Big Hat No Cattle, and there will be a buffet, kids’ activities, beer and wine (for those over 21) and free parking throughout Dewey Beach.
Tickets will only be available at the door and are $25 for 21 and over, $10 for those under 21 and free for children under 12. Additionally, donations will be accepted at the event and/or by sending a contribution to the Center for the Inland Bays-Delaware Coast Aid, 39375 Inlet Place, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. All donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Sponsorships of various levels are also available and will include complimentary tickets, website and Facebook links as well as acknowledgement in print.
