A Microsoft retail store will be opening at the Christiana Mall on Saturday, Sept. 29 - the first store in Delaware. The grand opening ceremony will begin at 10:30 a.m.
And to help celebrate, Microsoft is sponsoring a free performance by the alternative rock band Weezer near the store at 4 p.m. with gates opening at 2. Known for singles such as "Buddy Holly", "Undone", "Say It Ain't So" and "Perfect Situation" along with albums such as "Pinkerton," the L.A.-based band's eighth studio work, "Hurley" was released in 2010 on Epitaph Records.
During the grand opening ceremony, Microsoft will donate more than $1 million in software to local organizations that help create opportunities for local youth.
