Monday, April 30, 2012 04:59:09 PM by Craig Horleman

Legendary country musician Willie Nelson will make his Grand Opera House debut on Sunday, June 17 at 7 p.m. in Copeland Hall. The concert is presented in cooperation with SLP Concerts and WDSD Radio.

Mr. Nelson, who turns 79 today, has been a mainstay of country music and American culture for decades, with such classics as “On The Road Again,” “Always on My Mind,” “Crazy,” “Whiskey River,” and “Blue Eyes Cryin’ in the Rain.”

The concert will be the first event in a planned country music series presented in partnership with WDSD Radio. Grand Country Nights, more concerts of which will be announced with the 2012-13 season, is an initiative to offer more country music at The Grand to serve country fans in the region.

Tickets for Willie Nelson will go on public sale on Friday at 10 a.m. They can be purchased online at TicketsAtTheGrand.org, or by calling 302-652-5577 or 800-37-GRAND, or visiting The Grand’s Box Office at 818 N. Market St., Wilmington.
