For two days, Fox Post 2 had been having a dream of a state tournament.
But, on day three, reality made a harsh appearance for the Dover-based squad.
Second-seeded Stahl Post did what Fox Post 2 had been doing lately, taking advantage of every mistake and turning it into a 14-1 victory in the American Legion baseball state tournament at Schutte Park on Monday evening.
The victory leaves the Wilmington squad with a 3-0 record in the double-elimination tourney while Fox Post 2 (2-1) needs a win on Tuesday to reach Wednesday’s finals.
In Tuesday's action, fifth-seeded Fox Post 2 faces top-seeded R.C. DuPont (2-1) at noon with Stahl taking on Middletown Post 25 (2-1) at 6 p.m.

McNabb, Tobiason share Open lead: Dave McNabb and Michael Tobiason turned the Delaware Open into a two-man race as the state's top golf tournament got under way with a pair of rounds at DuPont Country Club on Monday.
The two players finished the day tied for the lead at nine-under par — five shots ahead of everyone else — going into today’s final round at the Wilmington course. The leaders tee off at 10:24 a.m.
