Chris Moore’s two-run homer in the first inning gave Polytech High all the runs it needed as the Panthers posted a 3-1 victory over Red Lion Christian in nonconference baseball on Monday afternoon.
Chris Baker pitched a complete-game four-hitter with 12 strikeouts as Polytech won its third game in a row to improve to 4-3. The Panthers, who finished with seven hits, added a run in top of the seventh to put away the win.
Pitcher Lonnie Funderburk struck out 12 for the Lions.
