Two seats to be filled in Dover election today

DOVER - The 2012 Dover Municipal Election is taking place today, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

There are two Dover City Council seats up for grabs, with a total of four candidates.

In the 1st District, current Councilwoman Beverly C. Williams is facing off against former Councilwoman Holly L. Malone.

Ms. Williams has been representing the district since 2002. Ms. Malone represented the district from 1993 to 2001.

The 1st District's polling location is the Elks Lodge 1903, 200 Saulsbury Road.

In the 3rd District, current Councilman David L. Bonar is going against Howard Q. Earle.

Mr. Bonar is serving his first term as councilman. Mr. Earle lost to Councilman Sean Lynn in last year's district election.

The 3rd District's polling location is the Dover Park Recreation Center, 1210 White Oak Road.

Candidates for mayor of Dover, and the 2nd and 4th District setas are running unopposed. Those seats will have no election.

Dover attorney Adam Perza will be the 2nd District's new representative; Councilwoman Sophia Russell will remain the 4th District representative; and Mayor Carleton E. Carey will remain in his position.

Election results will be announced at the polling locations shortly after closing time and will be posted in the Central Delaware section of Delaware.newszap.com.
